Luis Roque

Born in Lisbon in 1972.

Studied Arts and illustration in Lisbon 1996. Later on, got his captain license, in 2002. Commercial fisherman license in 1999 and maritime tourism course in University of Azores in 2008., up grating his license to hight seas (no limitation).
Started with fisheries in 1997 as Observer on commercial tuna fishing and cod fishing. Worked on tradition sailing boats between 2001- 2008. As a commercial fisher man, worked many times, on local deep fishing, for black spot sea-bream, reck-fish and deep espicies. Another parallel activity with this is boat delivery since 2006.

In 2008 start working on sport fishing, working as mate or captain on boats like Andromeda, Brazilia, Makaira, Paty, and Xacara, working with amazing captains like Less Gallagher, Olaf Grimkowski, Ian Carter, Martin Bates and Louis Sougne; in 2015 start with Matthias Hemmingsen on Smoker and Sambo in Cape Verde and Harmattan in Ascension. Since then keep doing the marlin seasons in Cape Verde and Azores.
